Sup Juggalos,
I recently got some new hardware and software that I have been trying out to improve our Radio Broadcasts. So, unfortunately, I was unable to pull things together and get a broadcast out last Sunday. I have recently been given some interestingly good news. I have been contacted by an Individual who has been interested in doing an interview with me for an Australian TV Documentary covering different types of spirituality. So they have agreed to come meet with me at my house with a camera crew. They have also agreed to do the interview Live on MyJuggaloSpace Radio. So please look forward to dates and times for that.
Now Let me jump into some Book of Matthew.
Matthew 11
Jesus and John the Baptist
1 After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee.[a]
2 When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples 3 to ask him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”
4 Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy[b] are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. 6 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”
7 As John’s disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? 8 If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear fine clothes are in kings’ palaces. 9 Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. 10 This is the one about whom it is written:
“‘I will send my messenger ahead of you,
who will prepare your way before you.’[c]
11 Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence,[d] and violent people have been raiding it. 13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. 14 And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. 15 Whoever has ears, let them hear.
16 “To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:
17 “‘We played the pipe for you,
and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge,
and you did not mourn.’
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”
REV’S TAKE:
What I find most interesting about this passage is the fact that even though it is ages old it still holds true today. So many rebel against Faith or (for those who do not believe) rebel against personal responsibility. No one is perfect. We are all sinners. But when you try to do something good. When you try to do something positive not just for your Life but for others as well…you see those naysayers out there who try to discredit you and who try to demonize you.
I have said this multiple times and have preached many a sermon. More than I have had the opportunity to write down. I have talked about an opportunity. The opportunity for generations of Individuals, both Juggalo and non-Juggalo to achieve a cohesiveness of cultures. It is a chance to step away from the chains of ill will and embrace change and open our hearts to the Carnival and to one another. But so many times we have asked for a call to Faith or even at its basic we’ve asked for a strengthening of the bonds of Family. As the passage says “To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:
17 “‘We played the pipe for you,
and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge,
and you did not mourn.’
But to the Juggalo Nation I re-word this passage to help you relate to what we are talking about here.
“To what can we compare our Juggalo Nation? They are like children who sit on their steps and we said
‘We offered you Faygo,
And you did not drink.
We’ve shared in your pain
And you still hurt us.’
How much longer must we say Family and yet you stay silent and do not hug? How much longer do we try to remind people of values and yet you spit at your neighbor? And when someone tries to utter words of peace you gnash your teeth and say cult. When someone talks of responsibility they are called ‘fake’. When someone questions the collective then they are accused of not being Family. “But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”
There is a difference between Intelligence and Wisdom. Intelligence is a level of knowledge that is short term. It is a measure of one’s knowledge in the now. Wisdom stands the test of time. It is a level of knowledge that is based on experience. It cannot be taught in text books. So let us use Wisdom to govern our actions. Let us recognize what is good and what is right. Let us embrace what is different and look towards peace.
