Road To Recovery

Posted on January 25th, 2011

Sup Juggalos,

I just want to clarify some things in the beginning of this sermon so that you can see where the Fellowship Of Juggalos is currently at.  I’m going to be honest.  Since I moved from Virginia to Maryland, the actions, impact and participation within and throughout the Fellowship Of Juggalos has lessened drastically.  I want to apologize to Rev. Wicked Wyatt who has tried tirelessly to rekindle the roaring fire that was once FOJ.  I want apologize to Mark because of my inability to join him in this cause.  As I’m sure all of you have noticed my participation on both the web and throughout the Community has been lacking.  Sermons barely get posted, my web presence has dropped.  I believe that the cause of this is due to my Shift work schedule.  Having barely little time to log on and conduct business has made things difficult.  As it stands now, I am only able to go onto MJS once a week and my myspace is virtually useless.  My second in command, Arch Minister Dave, is (like me) working constantly to support his family.  Giving the current difficulties, I have decided to bring FOJ back to the basics.  One minister preaching on the radio.  I will still send out sermons when I can.  Worry not, this does not spell the end of those who preach Juggaloism and those who preach for FOJ.  Sermons still spread out across cyberspace.  Pastor Peezy joins the chorus on the newly re-imagined www.juggalofaith.com .  Fear not, I have built FOJ from the ground up and I have re-built FOJ from the ashes on more than one occasion and I shall do the same when I return to VA.  My doors shall open once again to Juggalos looking for an ear to bend, a scrap of food, a sip of faygo, or just a place to chill.  The words of the Carnival shall continue to ring out to any who will listen.

Now let me speak of our Recovery.  As a church can be rebuilt from its ashes by the will of its parishioners then so too can then our lives be rebuilt from its ashes by the will of the Individual.  Even though as it seems that our lives have crumbled to the ground and happiness feels so out of reach, we can choose by the grace of the Carnival to lift ourselves up.  Scrub away the stains of the past as a new slate is given to us.  As we know from prior teaching that for each door closed another is opened.  As each opportunity fades another is laid before us.  We need only to reach out and grab for it.  We need only to grab the knob and walk right through.  But how can we walk through new doors of opportunity if we continue to plant our roots in lands that lack opportunity.  How can we move forward if we allow so much and yet so little to hold us back.

Some cultures have ritual and ceremony to mark ends of an era.  It is designed to wipe out past mistakes and past sorrows.  It also allows you to hope for a new life.  So if it is a new life that you need then drop the overbearings of the old life.  I don’t care what it is; relationships, drugs, employment and overall success.  I don’t care where you start.  You must start someplace.  You must find and make your happiness happen.  Point yourself into a direction and determine how you are going to get their next, because for each step you take forward now leaves you one step away from where you were.  Get up, brush the dust off and walk onto your road to recovery.
